Co-Ed Pickleball Tournament - Fall 2024

The City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department and Arden at Kohlers Crossing Apartments are hosting a CO-ED Pickleball Tournament on September 7th. The tournament is for ages 18 and up. Team registration must be at least 2 members and the MAX of 3 team members. All skill levels are welcome. This is a double elimination tournament. 

Prizes include:

• 1st place $150 gift card
• 2nd place $100 gift card
• 3rd place $75 gift card

Registration opens July 18 and closes September 1st.

Team Registration Cost: $25

Location: Arden at Kohlers Crossing Apartments

2024 Doggie Dip - Summer II 2024

6th Annual event hosted by City of Kyle PARD at the James Adkins Pool, located in Gregg-Clarke Park.

Pre-registration required. Registration closes September 6th, 2024 or when filled (whichever comes first) 

$12 per 1 resident, and they may bring up to 2 friendly dogs. Dogs may play and use the swimming pool between the hours of 10:00am-12:00pm on Sunday September 14, 2024.

Proof of rabies vaccination required, vaccination documentation must be emailed to agarcia@cityofkyle.com by 9/9/24 5:00pm. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your registration with NO REFUND.

Paint & Sip - Annual 2024

September Paint & Sip will be a Picasso Selfie portrait. Painters please bring a selfie of yourself or someone you would like to paint.

Grab a bottle of wine and your friends and join us each month to experience a social and fun atmosphere where our artist instructor will walk you step-by-step to complete a piece of artwork. All skill levels are welcome. All under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. BYOB.

2024 BETA (Be Empowered To Ascend) Day: Adaptive Climbing - Summer 2024

Join the City of Kyle Parks and Recreation at CRUX BETA Day on September 21st!

The BETA (Be Empowered To Ascend) program is a fantastic chance for individuals with disabilities to experience the thrill of rock climbing. No climbing experience is necessary—all skills are welcome! Climb with friendly volunteers, use an accessible chair, and learn cool climbing techniques and knots.

Registration Options:

• $25 with transportation provided*
• $16 without transportation (meet us at Crux)

BETA Day Details:

The Social Squad - Annual 2024

Welcome to The Social Squad - a social club for adults (18+) with disabilities. The Social Squad is your place to socialize, connect, and engage in fun recreational activities. Come join the fun and be a part of the squad! 

Location: Krug Activity Center, 101 S. Burleson St.

July 31st - 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

September 25th - 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

November 13th - 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

*Parents and guardians are welcome to drop off their participants, and those requiring additional support may attend with an attendant.*

Program Eligibility:
The Social Squad is specifically designed for individuals with disabilities, offering a supportive and inclusive environment. All participants must meet the below criteria to ensure that participants can fully engage and benefit from the services offered. Eligibility criteria helps to maintain appropriate group dynamics, ensure the safety of all participants, and facilitate the successful delivery of program services.
1. Ability to function independently or with minimal support in a group setting during program hours.
2. Demonstrate socially acceptable behaviors, including respect for self and others, and adherence to program guidelines.
3. Independence in essential self-care tasks such as feeding and bathroom needs.
4. Participants requiring additional support with medications, bathroom needs, and feeding may attend with an attendant or caregiver.

Tennis Lessons - Summer 2024

Whether you're a seasoned player or just picking up a racket for the first time, these lessons are perfect for all skills levels. All lessons are held on Saturdays at Lehman High Tennis courts.

• Youth Lessons:  $48 per registration; 11am – 12pm; for Ages 5-10 years
• Middle School Lessons: $60 per registration; 10am – 11am; for Ages 11-14 years
• Adult Lessons: $75 per registration; 9am – 10am  for Ages 18+ years

Participants can register for each session which includes 4 classes. Sessions available are below:

• September sessions: September 7, 14, 21 & 28
• October sessions: October 5, 12, 19 & 26

Art in the Park 2024 - Annual 2024

Please join us for an all-ages Art Program.

Art in the Park will create and build an assortment of themed items.

Located at Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park in either the Gazebo or Krug building.

Event begins at 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM

Please expect your project to take at least 30 minutes.

NO REFUNDS, if you miss the event, please request a "to go" project for pick up at Lake Kyle the week following the event.

Please wear clothing you do not mind possibly getting ruined by paint, glue or other project supplies.

Class registration is limited. If we have less than 5 entries class will be canceled for that month.

Adult Fishing Tournament - Fall 2024

Hooked On Fishing Spring Fishing Tournament

This fishing tournament is open to all adults (18 AND OLDER) with a valid Texas Freshwater Fishing License.

** THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT WILL NOT BE PROVIDING ON-SITE FISHING LICENSE... YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW FISHING LICENSE AT THE REGISTRATION TABLE IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE**

What Are We Fishing For?

This unique tournament will test your strategic ability to catch qualifying species of fish in Lake Kyle: Large-Mouth Bass, Sunfish/Perch, and Channel Catfish.

Player's:  If you are not a Manager or Captain, do not go through this process.  You will receive an email from this Site after your Manager registers.  Click on the link in that email and sign in using the email address you received the email at so you can register to be a player on the team of your Team Manager.

Halloween Boogie for All Abilities Dance - Fall 2024

Join us for our third annual Halloween Boogie for All Abilities Dance! Put on your best friendly costume and get ready for a spooktacular evening! There will be music, food, raffle prizes, and a 360-photo booth. Admission is FREE and welcomes all abilities and ages.

Parents and guardians are welcome to drop off their participants, and those requiring additional support may attend with an attendant. Please note that all participants and any accompanying adult(s) MUST register online prior to the event. 

Come dance, socialize, and make unforgettable memories with us at the Halloween Boogie for All Abilities Dance!

2024 Fall Fest- Chili Cook-Off - Fall 2024

IT’S TIME TO BRING THE HEAT! Does your chili have what it takes to make the judges sweat? It’s time to prove it. The City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department is hosting our first annual chili cook-off on October 19^th at our Fall Fest/La Verde Ribbon cutting event!

Registration will be limited to the first 15 teams.

Registration cost: $50.00 per entry

The event will take place from 2:00-6:00pm. You will be allowed to set up your chili stations beginning at 11:00am and MUST have chili ready by 2:20pm *failure to do so will result in disqualification. * Each team’s chili station must fit within a 10x10 assigned by city staff. Event & Vendor setup will be emailed by October 14^th.

2024 Fall Fest - Cornhole Tournament - Fall 2024

Grab a buddy or two and come compete for 'bagging rights' in the La Verde Fall Fest Tournament on Saturday, October 19. Games will be played at La Verde Park in the Brick and Mortar district during our second annual Fall Festival. Team check-in and warm up begins at 2pm, games begin at 2:30pm. 

Prizes to 1st and 2nd place teams. Registration fee is $20 per team. Please, only register one person per team. Teams must be a minimum of 2 players and maximum of 3 players, 18 years or older. Tournament will be double elimination play. 

Please bring your own cornhole bags. 14-16 oz bags
